At long last, OCEAN SQUARES is back. Tons of fun!!
Now that the long, drawn-out election is over, Ocean Squares is dancing again, tonight, Tuesday, November 11, 2008, at Pilgrim Hall in Pilgrim United Church, 2020 Chestnut Street, Carlsbad, CA, from 7 to 9 pm.
Pilgrim Hall is next to and attached to the church (unless we get shunted to the nursery again!). Pilgrim Church is on the northeast corner of Chestnut and Monroe, in Carlsbad. No—not the Mormon Temple—the opposite corner!
From the 78, exit El Camino, go south to Chestnut and turn right, down to Monroe. Church is on the near right corner. Small parking off Chestnut, and more parking around the corner.
We invite you to join us for an enjoyable evening of square dancing. Everyone is invited, whether you already know how to square dance or not. We will show you how! You don’t need a partner, and there is no dress code.
We are one of twelve gay square dance clubs in southern California, and about 85 in the U.S., Canada, and several other countries, including Japan and Denmark!
Hope to see you tonight!

The Center has partnered with The San Diego Food Bank. 9 am until the food is gone. Booths for signing up for food stamps and other services open at 8 am. People start lining up for the food by 8 am. The food is normally gone by 10 am.
Through our Community Food Distribution Program, The San Diego Food Bank (SDFB) feeds over 1,600 families each month. Products such as fresh fruits and vegetables and assorted cans are a few of the items you might find at any of our ten distribution sites.
The SDFB partners with non-profits to help distribute a minimum of 12 pallets of food each week. There are absolutely no requirements to receive food from our community food distributions.
In addition to this, we’re launching our Community Cares Project. Our goal is to provide a “one –stop-shop” where people can receive emergency food, pre-screen for Food Stamps and sign up for a range of other services including housing, employment, medical as well as low cost utility programs.
